Yummy

This was a difficult photo for me to shoot, I wanted a white background and objects for something clean and messy it was hard though to work with the white backdrop and white powdered sugar along with getting the angle I wanted without getting part of the wall. I also used soft box lighting to get a bright spread out look. I brought a baking pan and can of jelly to show a homemade look and feel. And wanted to focus my attention to the jelly coming out of the donut. To show a baked look with a warm feeling.

  1. I like the angle that you took the photo, I think it works well for this photo. The jelly is in really good focus. I really like how the photo isn't perfect, in fact its messy and that brings out the essence of a jelly donut, it's messy. I like the jam jar prop in the background it adds to the photo more value. If I could change one thing I wish the lid of the jam jar was closed the orange colorsdraws away from the mood of the image.

  2. Delicious photo, your lighting is so well done and gives the powdered sugar a slight pop, the position of the doughnuts and the spilled jelly makes this a cute piece, its not a stand still like others but seems to have the known of action that someone is eating, so cute. The jar in the back is adorable, I would have put it closer to the camera because it seems pretty important, but I still love the overall composition.

  3. I really love the composition and splash that the jelly donuts show throughout the photo. I also love how that the color of the top matches the donut. Lastly i'm in love with the fact that it looks messy, because they really are. You should have a different background so the powder and other things don't blend into the photo.
